Welcome to the KDMAS website

KDMAS members fly  when ever they can, weekends and weekdays, however wind and or rain will keep them away.

If you are interested in remote controlled flying or just want to have a look come up and visit us any time you see the windsock flying at our field. The best time to visit is during the morning or early afternoon. Enter via the Keilor Public Golf Course, turn left at their carpark and continue on one kilometre.

THE BRIMBANK COUNCIL HAVE RECENTLY INSTALLED A BOOMGATE ON FARR PARKWAY ( the road into our flying field ) if you wish to visit us, either contact the club first for the gate code or wait at the gate until a member lets you in.

This website was established to provide information to the members and the public about the activities of the KDMAS.

KDMAS is a long established radio control model aircraft, glider, control line, helicopter and quadcopter club, with around 90 members who promote and teach the art of model aircraft flying to new members and provide an ideal site (with the help of  the City of Brimbank) for all the members to fly. You will find members and their models at the field every weekend and on many week days. (Weather permitting)

The club incorporates all level of pilots from new learners to experienced turbine pilots , slope soaring at Mt Hollowback near Ballarat is popular, and can also be flown over the valley north of the field with a good north wind.

The helicopter and control line flyers use a dedicated  area at the western end of the field.

Our runway is well maintained and is  covered in a fibreglass matting (old conveyor belts) to produce a nice smooth all weather surface with no cracks or dust to upset our models.

The flying field is located beside the Calder Free-way on the North West outskirts of Melbourne (Australia) in Sydenham Park, Keilor North, enter via the Kings Road overpass ( coming from the city) through the Keilor Public Golf Course gate, turn left at the carpark go past the “private property” sign and continue one kilometre,  follow the signs.

PLEASE BE SURE TO OBSERVE THE PEDESTRIAN CROSSING OUTSIDE THE GOLF DRIVING RANGE (WE DON’T WANT TO UPSET THE GOLFERS)
